So, you have a computer and you can surf the web, but how do you make that profitable?

Affiliate Marketing!

It’s easy to learn, and has the potential for some great residual profit, and that’s what we’re all looking for, right? How to make our time and money work for us and not the other way around.

You might say “But Chris, what IS Affiliate Marketing?” I’m glad you asked!

Affiliate Marketing is an arrangement by which an online retailer pays a commission to an external website (YOU) for traffic or sales generated from its referrals.

That’s right, companies will pay you just for promoting their products and services.

Have you ever gone to a restaurant that you loved, or saw a movie that moved you, and you passed that information on to your friends, who then visited that restaurant or watched that movie, just because you suggested it? Well, that’s Marketing in its basic form, only you didn’t make any money from that. Affiliate Marketing is basically the same thing, only you promote products and services that pay you for recommending them.

Now, here’s the kicker.

You’re going to have to be patient, dedicated and determined. This isn’t a get rich quick plan, this is a long term business plan. You will need to learn how to research subjects of interest, Affiliate Programs or Direct Merchants to work with. You will also need to build up your customer base and network with other Affiliate Marketers to maximize your time and profitability.

One of the best ways to get started is to start a Blog or Blog Farm. This will get you into the habit of researching information and putting it out there for your customers to read and talk about. Find a niche that interests and excites you and learn as much as you can about it, then put that information into an easy to understand post and share it out.

Then after you have some solid results you can move onto promoting products and services in new niches. Affiliate marketing or any affiliate program is only going to grow globally as the trends of internet sales and marketing increase and my guess is some of us stand to make an incredible amount of money by researching it and then just plainly going and doing it.

Where will you be in 5 years? Because affiliate marketing has the huge potential to take you to where ever you want to go if you let it.

What was that? What is a Blog?

Man, you’re great at asking the right questions!

A Blog is a regularly updated website or web page, typically one run by an individual or small group, that is written in an informal or conversational style. Have you ever posted something on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)? If you have, then you’re already off to a great start!

This has many advantages including the fact that blogs are free to start, own and maintain and they are also loved by the search engines if you can provide unique content. It couldn’t be made simpler for you to launch your blogs and post some free articles to them. There is a ton of information online on how to start and maintain a Blog, so here’s your first thing to research!

Once you’ve got your Blog built and running, then you can look for products or services that offer commissions to Affiliate Marketers and start talking about and sharing those products and services. There are many different programs available to learn how to do this and we will share some of these on this Blog site. Some of these instructional programs will also pay you a commission for driving traffic to them, so you could literally earn while you learn!

I’ll have to say Chris that your blog is very interesting. I’m fairly new to Affiliate Marketing and I’m kinda getting a bad taste in my mouth. I have been told several times that the designers of affiliate products know that their program will never work and they just try selling you more and more. I have found that to be true.

I buy one program and some of the upsells but then when it comes right down to it the sales pitch is NOTHING like what the program really is. It just seems like it’s a waste of time. I am so pleased with P2S as they actually put their words in to action!! Thanks John Thornhill and Randy Smith.

Good Post Chris and I just may be back to review the other posts you’ve made.

Thank you for your comments Shelley, and for checking out our Blog. It’s true, there are some bait and switch marketers out there, that’s why it’s important to do your homework and research what is best for you.
